The order your students work through their XALTER lists this fall, and the three rules worth saying out loud to the class.

👥 AudienceTeachers
⏱️ Estimated Time2 minutes to read
🎯 GoalRun your class through the lists in the right order
01. What Students See

A student signs in with their own Student ID and PIN and lands in the Welcome Center, where their lists are waiting.

On first login, teleport forward and look right: the lists sit to the right of the Training Center portal. They are also inside the Training Center, on the board to the left.

Each list after the careers survey runs Check-In → VR → Check-Out. Items unlock in that order, so nobody skips ahead inside a list.

💡 New to sign-in? See Signing In with a Student ID and PIN for the step-by-step.
02. The Order

Step 1

Oil and Gas Careers (Start of Semester) — a short survey about students and this kind of work. Every student takes it first.

Step 2

Site Flow & Safety

Step 3

Wellhead Soaping

Step 4

GPU Isolate & Blowdown

Step 5

Conditioning T-Strainer

Step 6

Compression Startup

Step 7

Pigging Sending
⚠️ Start with the careers survey. It asks what students thought about this kind of work before they'd tried any of it, so it only works before they're in the headset. If a student does only one list all semester, that's the one.
💡 After that: top to bottom is the best order, and a student's own pace is fine. A list can run across more than one class — students pick up at the next unlocked item.
03. Three Rules
🪪 One student per sign-inEach student uses their own Student ID and PIN, and answers for themselves.
🔁 No swaps mid-listOnly the student who took a list's Check-In does the rest of it. A new student on a headset signs in as themselves.
🤫 Nobody calls out answersCheck-Ins and Check-Outs are answered by the student in the headset.

A shared sign-in or a mid-list swap mixes two students together, and the results for both stop meaning anything.

04. Common Issues (Fast Fixes)

A student can't sign in

Do this: Check the Student ID and PIN against your class list, watching for O vs 0 and I vs 1.

A student lost their PIN

Do this: Send us that Student ID and we'll issue a new PIN. Students can't reset their own — see How to Request a New Student ID or PIN.

A student can't find the lists

Do this: In the Welcome Center, teleport forward and look right — they are beside the Training Center portal. Inside the Training Center, they are on the board to the left.

The board is empty after signing in, or the app asks to update

Do this: Plug the headset in, let it update, and sign in again. Still empty — submit a ticket.

A student stops partway through a list

Do this: Nothing to do. They sign in next class and pick up at the next unlocked item.
05. At the End of the Semester

A second survey — Oil and Gas Careers (End of Semester) — repeats the first one. It isn't on the board yet; we'll add it and let you know.
