Gas Production Site - Release Notes
Gas Production Site v1.6.8
Official Patch Notes — August 2026
Updated: August 27, 2026
An update over v1.4.3 — assigned training you can launch in one tap and that credits you automatically, new Checkpoints and Badges, an open Pressure Lab, and roughly double the frame rate on standalone headsets. Available on Meta Quest, Pico, and Windows PC.
|
Assignments
Assigned training now appears on a board in the
Welcome
Lobby and Training Center. Launch what's due
in one
tap — your progress and completion are credited
automatically.
|
Checkpoints
A type of assigned item that drops you straight
into
a specific scene or assessment and records your
completion
for you.
|
- Continue to Next Assignment: After finishing an assigned task, a prompt takes you straight into the next one — no diving back into menus.
- Badges: A new badging tab on your left-hand menu recognizes what you've earned as you progress.
- Pressure Lab: A new open lab in the Training Center to explore how pressure moves through the unit at your own pace.
- Much Smoother on Headset: A major optimization pass roughly doubled the frame rate on standalone headsets (about 30 to 72+ fps) and nearly eliminated the pause when advancing a step.
- 72 Hz on Pico: Pico headsets now run in their 72 Hz display mode for steadier motion.
- Level-of-Detail Equipment: Large equipment and the site now use lighter models at a distance, for a steadier frame rate without losing close-up quality.
- Clearer Results: Assessment mode now ends on a results screen, while Practice mode does not interrupt you with one.
- More Complete Scoring: Wrong answers and wrong placements are recorded properly.
- Credit Per Mode: Finishing one mode of a procedure no longer credits the other modes that share it, so results reflect what you actually did.
- Menu Follows Your Height: The left-hand menu repositions with you when you adjust your height.
- Faster Sign-In: The login screen focuses the first field, so keyboard entry — including Tab and Enter — works right away.
- Better Hands-On Steps: The impact wrench now sounds in 3D space, and tools are interchangeable where it makes sense.
- Better Recovery: After a network drop, reconnecting brings your avatar and microphone back, so you're fully in the session again.
- Natural Spatial Voice: Voices now fade with distance, people who join partway through hear the right narration, and a voice line can no longer go silently missing.
- Fewer Interruptions: Friend-request notifications ping once per session instead of re-alerting on every scene change.
- Multi-Organization Login: Fixed a hang when logging in with an account tied to more than one organization.
- Account Features Mid-Session: Fixed a case where a sign-in hiccup could break server features — assignments and progress — for the rest of a session.
- Host Equipment Control: Fixed the host losing the ability to highlight or operate equipment after another player joined mid-step.
- Valves That Wouldn't Turn: Fixed valves that highlighted and could be grabbed but wouldn't turn, and stopped wrench-only valves being turnable by hand.
- Disappearing Equipment: Fixed site equipment vanishing at certain camera angles.
- NPC Appearance: Fixed people pixelating or shimmering at normal conversation distance.
- Push-Buttons: Fixed physical push-buttons that could visually pass through their housing.
- Wind Station: The wind indicator now names wind by the direction it blows from, as taught, and finishing the station no longer removes the way to restart it.
- Safety Checklist Board: An abandoned station no longer shows a green check, and entering at a station no longer strands the board.
- Assignment & Badge Polish: Guests no longer see a stray Continue prompt, the completion popup faces you and names the task you finished, and the badges panel fits the menu and handles long names.
- Wellhead in the Site Quiz: Fixed the wellhead being unselectable when pointing at its valves and handles.
- Gate Syncing: Fixed gates not updating for other players, including anyone who joined late.
- Leftover "Collab Room" Tab: Fixed a legacy tab appearing to guests at the wrong time.
- Objects Stuck Grabbable: Fixed cases where an object could become permanently grabbable when it shouldn't be.
- Lockout/Tagout Steps: Fixed steps that could register as done using the wrong lock.
- PC Part Placement: Fixed objects bouncing out of position when seated into a socket on PC.
- Lesson Step Reliability: Fixed lessons that could error or stall when steps were skipped quickly, plus several individual broken steps.
- Conditioning Skid Visuals: Fixed a wrong material on the discharge pipe and a dump valve that could vanish.
No — just update and go.
- Using assignments? They appear on the board in the Welcome Lobby and Training Center automatically once your admin sets them.
