Setting Up Your Meta Quest Headset

Before installing XALTER, your Meta Quest headset needs to be set up for first-time use. This guide walks through the essentials you’ll need to complete so your headset is ready for training.
Prerequisites
Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, or Quest Pro headset
A smartphone with the Meta Quest app installed (iOS/Android)
Stable Wi-Fi connection
Meta account credentials
Step 1 — Power On the Headset
Press and hold the Power button on the side of the headset.
Wait for the Meta logo to appear.
Step 2 — Pair with the Meta Quest App
Download and install the Meta Quest app on your phone.
Sign in with your Meta account.
Follow the prompts to pair your phone with the headset.
When pairing is successful, the headset will appear in your device list.
Step 3 — Connect to Wi-Fi
Put on the headset.
Use the controllers to select Settings → Wi-Fi.
Choose your network and enter the password.
Confirm the headset shows as connected.
Note: XALTER requires an active Wi-Fi connection for installation, login, and multiplayer features.
Step 4 — Complete Initial Setup
Accept the Meta safety and boundary setup.
Create or confirm a Guardian boundary for your play area.
Ensure controllers are paired and working.
Step 5 — Confirm Device Readiness
Open the Apps Library in your headset.
Verify that the default Meta apps (e.g., Browser, Explore) are installed and working.
Your headset is now ready for XALTER installation.
Common Pitfalls
Headset won’t pair? Restart both the phone and the headset, then retry.
Guardian boundary not saving? Make sure your floor is well lit and clear.
Wi-Fi drops during setup? Stay within range of your router until setup is complete.
